I worked for Starbucks for 5 years. They treat their employees very badly. But it’s the type of job which is difficult to leave, despite that fact. It’s hard to explain unless you’ve been there done that.

If you didn’t know, a passport is one of four “valid” government issued ID’s that alcohol/tobacco sellers are supposed to accept as ID (the other two being state ID cards and military ID cards). I use my passport for all ID purposes (it can’t be scanned and they don’t get my information that way). I use my “driver license” only if I’m stopped while driving. If some bartender or doorman give me shit about not having my driver license with me (which has NEVER happened to me), I’d tell them either (a) I don’t have a driver license or any other ID or (b) I don’t use my driver license for ID purposes – I use my passport, thank you very much, good day, sir.
