Recently I got bored in my marketing class and a question popped into my head. I asked myself how small is the earth. Now to us it is pretty big but in reality compared to jupiter and then the sun the earth is not that comparable. McDonalds, the New Starbucks???

Ever since November 2006 Starbuck’s stock prices have been dropping steadily. Oddly enough people still think it is a great company. The employees talk highly about the company, as the should since they work there, but that doesn’t increase Starbuck’s profit incredibly. Everyone knows that coffee at Starbucks is way the hell over priced. I am still puzzled to this day why people do pay that much for coffee. I do catch myself every once and a while buying a drink but i do it when i visit my really good friend when she is working. However, there are people that get coffee drinks at least once a day from Starbucks, that adds up, quick. Imagine our body is a car, Starbucks coffee is the fuel for your car. Ironically, keeping that model i just mentioned in mind, Starbuck’s coffee prices are comparable to gas prices today. They are friggin ridiculous! Another thing as to why Starbucks is probably loosing money is because they keep putting up new stores everywhere. I really dont get that either. There are so many flippin Starbucks stores in town why put up more?I really think, and it’s just like Lewis Black said, that Starbucks hopes that a lot of people have al’s timers disease. That way people forget they have coffee and go across the street to another Starbucks and get more.

The major factor as to why Starbucks is loosing money is the fact that they are facing a major competitor coming into the field, McDonalds. In the past year McDonalds has starting offering iced coffee drinks. They dont have a big selection of coffee choices but they are selling their coffee cheaper and it still tastes great. Also, McDonalds is incorporating coffee bars in Mcdonalds themselves. They are hiring Baristas to manage these coffee bars. Once these coffee bars are out of the test market which should be soon Starbucks is going to be hurting really bad. McDonalds has been around a lot longer than Starbucks and this could really impact where people get coffee. Only time will tell. The funny thing is, Starbucks has kind of come up with a plan to counter act McDonalds. Starbucks is going to introduce a $1 coffee. This is in the testing phase right now in Seattle but personally Starbucks is going to need to do a lot more to get its stock prices and profit back up.

Passports, The New Fake ID??

So i have this theory. It states that you could possibly use your passport as a fake id in bars. It came to me when i was at a bar with a friend. My friend is from Germany and came to visit my friends and i. We were at a pizza place called No Anchovies. At 10 no one is allowed there unless they are 21 or older. Well my friend is actually 22 but all the ID he had on him was his passport. When the time came, one of the employees came around and asked for our IDs. The employee took his and barely, like i mean barely looked at it. Then the employee said ok and walked on. If you think about it and look at your passport. The ID page is very confusing. There are the stars or lines throughout the whole page. Plus your birthday and formatted differently. I believe it says the day you were born first then the month then the year. Since there is so much on that one little page it might work. Make sure though that the place doesnt scan IDs with a black light otherwise they may not let you in unless you kind of beg and tell them this is the only form of ID i have right now. Say your wallet or something got stolen and your passport is all you have.Well good luck but dont blame me if you get shuned away.

Mystery man gives couple blank cheque

An Iowa couple are £50,000 better off after a complete stranger gave them a blank cheque in a cafe.

He told them: “Write any amount you like – I’m good for it.”

The couple took him at his word to the tune of $100,000, about £50,600, reports the Daily Mirror.

But they could not believe their luck when the cheque cleared.

The couple met their elderly benefactor in Dr Salami’s Cafe in Pella, Iowa. He first asked if they had any kids. They told him they had a two-year-old.

Then he gave his conditions: They were to use the cash to buy a house, never reveal his identity – nor their own full names. And they have to name their next child after him.

Alissa and Barry thought it was probably a joke but decided to play along by filling in the amount for $100,000.

Barry said: “We decided to give it a whirl next day, never thinking he was serious – but he was!”

The mystery man also left the waitress a $100 tip.

She said: “He is just a nice guy. You never know who is sitting next to you. You never know when you can make a difference to someone else’s life.”

Racquetball, Lets hit around some balls!

Racquetball is a racquet sport played with a hollow rubber ball in an indoor or outdoor court.Normally, a racquetball game is played between two opposing players, though three- and four-player variations exist. Two-player games are called singles or “one-up” (1-on-1 for the entire game); three-player games are called “Ironman” or “Cut-throat” (2-on-1 for the entire game) wherein each player take turns serving to the other two; the “California” variation is a 3-player game wherein it is played as a three-way singles game, except that the player losing the point remains in the back court while the other two play the next point; the four-player game is called “doubles” and played as teams.

So now that you know what the sport is if you didnt before lets start off by saying it is flippin a great time. Despite what most people might tell you or you have heard, you do get a lot of exercise. Trust me! You get more exercise playing a one on one game than a cut throat game but non the less. Plus it takes some good hand-eye coordination to play. If your’s isnt that great well then this game could improve it. One thing that isnt fun, is getting nailed with the ball or the racquet. It hurts a lot, especially in the head or ear. Man i got hit in the ear once and it rang for a good half an hour. That it why it is recommended to wear goggles because if you got hit in the eye it could cause serious damage and surgery wouldnt be out of the question. I play a couple times a week at the rec center at my school. Its a good way to have fun and get a little exercise. So if you havent played before and want to try, go for it.

Valentine’s Day, HIT OR MISS!!??

So now that it’s the weekend after valentines day how did everyone fair?It is commonly heard that on this special day that everyone cherishes that it is actually the day with the highest suicide rate. Also people on this day have the greatest depression too. So instead of this day being all lovey dovey we should really look for the people that are single and jsut keep them company. Why do this? Well because you and i both know that if you are with someone on valentines day that you have likely been together before that day and will still be together after that day. Wouldn’t it be a more rewarding feeling knowing you helped someone out by just keeping them company at least one day out of the year?!Well you may be be asking back but its a special day for a reason, you’re meant to spend the day with your loved one right and do something special and all? Well here is the kicker, you can doing special and spend any other day of the year with your lover. Am i right???

So how did your valentines day fair?Please post a comment. I know for me i worked in the morning and then had school that afternoon. Well after school i met up with a friend i hadnt seen in a long time and we enjoyed ourselves and got a couple beers. I was supposed to go out to dinner with this girl and her friends but her friends flaked so she joined me at the bar with my other friend and we watched the UA basketball game and had a grand ole time. After that at about 9:30pm i went with my roommates to play some racquet ball and it was fuckin awesome. Like i have said before valentines day is a great day to care for others, yes it’s just another day but next valentines day take what i said into account and be a kind person:)

Zune and Ipod the Same??

So when i was looking on Amazon. com the other day at the new Zune 80gb i noticed a little ad on the left side of the website. I kind of ignored it but i did a double take on it though. The ad said get a new ipod for just pennies but it had a picture of the old Zune 30gb there. I just it funny how ads and shit appear like this. Stupid mistakes are funny. So i am proud to say that i attend the University of Arizona even though our football team blows. Keep in mind though that it is a top ranked 100 school and the business college is ranked 12th in the nation. With that said no matter where you go there are fucking stupid people. Sadly this story happened on my home turf. This story made CNN thats how stupid this girl is. She is a UA law student and beauty queen. She decided to kidnap her ex-boyfriend and torture him for ten hours ad steal from him because he supposedly stole her jewelry. All i have to say is she is a fucking retard and just screwed over her whole career. Hi 5 Kumari! Check out the rest of the story hear and you can be the judge of actually how cute she is. I vote she is ugly as hell!
